Excite! Excite!

In 1799, time unraveled. Each continent is living in a different time period. As the book opens it is 1891 in Boston. What we know as New England and the East Coast is called The Occident and is under current attack by pirates from the United Indies, and illegal immigrants from the Baldlands (Western United States).

The main character's uncle is a famous cartologer. He is raising her because her parents disappeared eight years ago. When her uncle is kidnapped she has to go look for him whenever her journey leads it.
