Oh my gosh! It's Friday again!

So, here's what I'm reading.

I'm about halfway through The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker for my library book club. The setting is 1900 New York City. Both a Syrian Jinni and a Jewish Golem find themselves in the new world with no one who really understand what it's like to be a mythical creature. Of course, they meet and fall in love. So far the best part of this book is the two neighborhoods they live in. The Old World customs are still alive and well in these neighborhoods and they are very different, but also a lot alike.

I also have Magician's Land by Lev Grossman. This is the third in a fantastic series about a guy who goes to magician school and figures out how to get to a magical land everyone always assumed was fictional. I've been looking forward to this for months. Squee!
