Friday Reads 12/26/14

I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I did. I got a couple of books!

The Library

The Public Library: A Photographic Essay by Robert Dawson - Great pictures of public libraries. Book nerd heaven!

Time Being

A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki - This one was on my wishlist. I'm super happy to have it.

So, what I'm reading this week. Hmmm.

I'm working on this:

Celebrating P&P

So far, it's a pretty minute breakdown of Pride and Prejudice. Each character anazlyzed and whatnot. It's entertaining, though, so that's good.

Immortal Rules

I realized last night that I should not read this before falling asleep. It's pretty scary. There are people, and then there are vampires, and then there are rabid vampires. They seem to be like, vampire zombies, if that's possible. Those guys are really frightening.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I'm listening to this on CD in my car, so you can expect to see it turn up frequently in future weeks. I have a theory about Sirius Black, and so far, most of my adult friends have agreed with me. Basically, I feel like he is similar to a deadbeat dad. He doesn't get out of prison until the kid is well out of diapers. He is super fun to be around, but he manages to weasel out of any real "dad" responsibilities (Uh, no, you can't live with me. I've got a lot of "stuff going on right now".) And he would much rather be the fun friend, than provide any actual fatherly support.

So that's what I'm working on this weekend. What are you reading?
