Top 5 Wednesday

Here's a fun new meme. Top Five Wednesday is a Goodreads group with a list of blog topics for each Wednesday.

Today's list is Top 5 Books I Wanted to Start Reading Yesterday.

S. by J.J Abrams

S

Man, this looks so good. I keep putting it off because I don't want it to be over. It's a book written inside another book. Basically, it's written as marginalia in another book written by two different readers. I think it will take some brain power, so I'm saving it for that special, foggy time in the future when I'm less stressed out.

Night Film by Marisha Pessl

Night Film

This is another quirky book. It has lots of graphics in it. Pictures and newspaper clippings and letters and whatnot. I think the story is about the investigation into the death of the daughter of a horror film director. I think that's what I remember.

The Accursed by Joyce Carol Oates

Accursed

Because I am a sucker for literary vampire novels.

Lexicon by Max Barry

Lexicon

This is about a school where the students are taught the power of words to persuade. They are taught to take control of people's minds just with the power of language. Creepy! I'm such a word nerd.

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin

A.J. Fikry

I imagine this book to be sweet and sentimental and not at all like the dystopians I have been subjecting myself to recently.

So those are the books I'm a little embarrassed to say I haven't already read. How about yours?
