Sophomore Novels

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Sophomore novels I loved or am looking forward to. I'm going to include sophomore works that are already published but I haven't gotten to, yet. Let's see how many I can come up with.

  1. The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater - This is the second book in the Raven Cycle. This is a young adult series about a girl and a group of prep school boys looking for the grave of a Celtic king. In Virginia. I know. But it works.

  2. Night Film by Marisha Pessl - This one is sitting on my shelf waiting for just the right time. I loved her first book so much.

  3. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs - This is the second in the Miss Peregrine's series, which I mentioned in my November TBR.

  4. Ms. Marvel, vol. 2 by G. Willow Wilson - This graphic novel has a cameo appearance by Wolverine, and there is a great dog involved. Yay!

  5. Kirsty Logan - There isn't a second book scheduled yet from this author, but I loved the book that came out this year, so I am looking forward to what she puts out next.

  6. Find Momo Coast to Coast by Andrew Knapp - I love me some Momo!

  7. Hannah Kent - This is the author of Burial Rites which is definitely on the list of best books this year. Again, I can't wait to she what else she's got.

  8. The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith - I don't know how much this counts, since this is a pen name for J.K. Rowling, but I sure do like this series. This is the second in the Cormoran Strike series.

  9. Purity of Blood by Arturo Perez-Reverte - The second book in the Captain Alatriste series. I feel like this series went downhill later, but the first ones were good.

  10. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - The ultimate sophomore novel. Of course.

I'm pretty sure I didn't do this exactly right. I'm sure some of these are not actually the second novel by the author, but it's whatever. It was fun to do.
