She's got the books that kill.

Books I Am Thankful For

I know. Cheesy. But it is the Top Five Wednesday topic for this Thanksgiving week.

I could just take the easy way out and list my five favorite Jane Austen novels. But I'll actually put some brain power into this and just use those for my first choice.

Next, I'm going to go with The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction by Alan Jacobs. I reread this book at least yearly. It is a comfort book. I learned so much about reading from this book.

Thirdly is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. This is the book that launched me into being a Reader. Capital R. My fourth grade teacher read it to us. I got a copy for my birthday and read it over and over again.

Fourth, I will choose the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling because my daughter loves them so much. They may be her Jane Eyre.

Lastly, I am thankful for the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Hours and hours of entertainment in those 22 (so far) books.

What books are you thankful for?
