Book Hangovers

Oh the dreaded book hangover. There are officially two definitions for "book hangover". The first one is how you feel the day after staying up late to read. And the second one is that feeling after you finish a book, but you can't get it out of your head and you are ruined for any other book for awhile.

Today's Top Five Wednesday topic is books that gave you book hangover.

  1. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan - This one gave me a book hangover just this week. I stayed up until almost one in the morning to finish this Sunday night. I read 400 pages that day.

  2. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield - This is a great book for causing book hangover. It's so creepy and convoluted. I've read it at least 3 times, and I always find something new.

  3. The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty - At the time that I read this, I didn't think it was a hangover book. But in the 6 or 8 months since, it's returned to my attention and thoughts over and over. Little themes from the book crop up over and over and I always relate it back to this book.

  4. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - This book ended with tears streaming down my face. It took a long time for me to be ready to take on more fiction after this. I read a lot of non-fiction after this one.

  5. The Rabbit Back Literature Society by Pasi Ilmari Jaaskelainen - Are you tired of me talking about this yet? Too bad. It keeps cropping up. Someone on a social media site was reading and we discussed the punch those last three pages pack. Yeah, it's still hanging around.
