Favorite 2016 Books So Far

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Top Ten 2016 Releases So Far. I went back through my Goodreads account and learned that I have only read 5 books that were released this year, so that's what I'll list here.

American Housewife

American Housewife: Stories by Helen Ellis - This was fantastic! I loved the stories and I laughed out loud more than once.

Worlds

Worlds of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley - This one didn't start off so great, but it definitely redeemed itself before too long. YA fiction about the Brontes, with magical realism.

Jane and Waterloo

Jane and the Waterloo Map by Stephanie Barron - You know how much I love this series. This was an excellent installment.

Little Dribbling

The Road to Little Dribbling by Bill Bryson - This was less awesome than I expected. Bryson hasn't really aged well. What used to be snarky, now comes off as self-serving and grumpy.

American Vampire

American Vampire Vol. 8 by Scott Snyder - An interesting piece of the series, but maybe not my favorite. I like how previous volumes jumped around in time, and this one was one continuous story.

So those are the books I've read that were released this year. I do not appear to be committed to reading new releases. Actually this year is more up to date than years past, but that's all about to change, as per my post about eradicating my library hold list.
