Books Set Outside the U.S.
Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Books Set Outside the United States. I feel like this one will be pretty easy for me. A lot of what I read is set in other coutries, especially England.
The Rabbit Back Literature Society by Pasi Imari Jaaskelainen - Let's just get this one out of the way early, since you knew you were going to see it here. This one takes place in Finland.
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent - Continuing in the vein of Scandinavian books, I have to have this one on this list. It is about the last execution in Iceland.
The Commissario Brunetti Series by Donna Leon - Moving a little East and South, we have this mesmerizing series set in Venice, Italy.
Under the Udala Trees by Chinelo Okparanta - Set in Africa, this book tells the tale of a lesbian woman in a traditional town.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan - Even further East is this hilarious tale of rich people problems set in Singapore.
Facing the Wave by Gretel Ehrlich - This non-fiction book is set in Japan.
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman - I love this book set in Australia more and more as time goes on.
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood - Moving on to Canada, we have this moving, fabulous book about another woman tried for murder.
The Jane Austen Mysteries by Stephanie Barron - And no one is surprised to see this series here. It is set in England (obviously).
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - This fantastic, piece of perfection is set in space.
I had some trouble narrowing it down to just 10, but there you go.
