Most Unlikeable Characters

Today's Top 5 Wednesday topic is Most Unlikeable Characters. This could be interesting. I can only think of a couple of highly unlikeable characters, so I will have to do a little digging. Also, Spoiler Alert for this whole post. If you haven't read the books and intend to, I am definitely giving away plot points.

Dottor Patta from the Guido Brunetti Series by Donna Leon - This is Brunetti's direct supervisor. He is egotistical, flaunts his authority, steals other's ideas, and is a social grasper. He's really frustrating, but it's hilarious to read when Brunetti deftly manipulates him.

The Prince from Uprooted by Naomi Novik - This guy is especially bad because he seems like he's going to be a savior, so it's even worse when he abruptly shows his true colors.

Joyce Barnhardt from the Stephanie Plum Series by Janet Evanovich - This woman is the worst. Stephanie's marriage broke up when she found Joyce and her husband on her new dining room table. Since then she has attempted to hijack Stephanie at every turn. She opens a rival bounty hunter busines, flirts with her boyfriend, and messes with her car.

Yaqui Delgado from Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina - This girl goes after the main character because she's new in school and her boyfriend looked at her. That's it. She bullies her and threatens her and generally acts like an ass. This is kind of a gimme, but she is really, really awful.

Mister Collins from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - Because duh. He displays all the most disgusting traits: lust, unwarranted pride, borrowed honor, obsequiousness, and conceit. He's pompous, and ridiculous and every word he utters makes me cringe.

There. 5 unlikeable characters. Excuse me, I feel the need for a shower.
