Goodreads Update August 2016
It is time to confess to all the books I added to my TBR since last month. I always think "Oh it's not that much. Maybe a couple of books." Ha! Anyway, here we go.
Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl - I decided to do this one for that Read a Food Memoir challenge, so I added it to my TBR.
Lumberjanes Vol. 4 by Shannon Walters - I added this one after I read Vol. 3.
Unequal Affection by Lara S. Ormiston - A friend of mine in the know alerted me to this Pride and Prejudice retelling. She says it's not crap at all.
Eat Dirt by Dr. Josh Axe - This is about leaky gut syndrome and how to combat it.
Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshbaugh - A prehistoric retelling of Pride and Prejudice in a YA novel.
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley - I chose this for the challenge to Read a Book You Should Have Read in School.
Life After Death by Damien Echols - Because I bought it last week.
The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead - This is apparently the book of the year.
American Heiress: The Wild Saga of the Kidnapping, Crimes, and Trial of Patty Hearst by Jeffrey Toobin - Oooh! Scandal!
Maud's Line by Margaret Verble - This takes place in depression era Oklahoma.
Still Life with Tornado by A.S. King - This YA author is coming in October and I should probably read a book of hers before she comes.
The Dollhouse by Fiona Davis - This is a novel about the Barbizon House for Women in 1950's New York, both then and now.
Smoke by Dan Vyleta - In Vicorian London, poor people smoke when they think sinful thoughts. The upper class don't. Or do they?
Whew! That's all. 13 books in a month. Way more than I can ever read in a month. Oy veh.
