Books I Meant to Read in 2016
Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Books I Meant to Read In 2016 But Didn't.
Whoo boy. There are a lot of books on this list.
-
All the books from my Bookish Resolutions list that I didn't even try to read.
-
The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe - I started this a couple of years ago, but didn't finish it. I looked at it a couple of times, but just didn't feel like picking it back up.
-
The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer - This has been on my list for almost 4 years now. I keep hearing great things about it, but I haven't got to it.
-
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt - I've heard mixed things about it, but I loved her other books I've read, so I wanted to give it a chance.
-
Thereby Hangs a Tail by Spence Quinn - Here is another one I've started and quit on. I even still remember what happened in the parts I read. It just sits on my shelf and stares at me.
-
Mrs. Astor Regrets by Meryl Gordon - This one has been on my shelf for 3 years. I nabbed a copy when the library discarded it. I'm enamored with rich people problems books.
-
Princesses Behaving Badly by Linda Rodriquez McRobbie - This is a collection of feminist minibiographies of fairy tales. I'm in.
-
Lexicon by Max Barry - I started this one a couple of years ago. It was not what I expected it to be. It was interesting, and I want to finish it, now that I know what to expect.
-
Careless People: Murder, Mayem, and the Invention of the Great Gatsby by Sarah Churchwell - That's pretty much the extent of it. It's the story of the Fitzgeralds and how they came around to writing The Great Gatsby.
-
At Large and At Small by Anne Fadiman - She is the daughter of Clifton Fadiman of Great Books fame. This is a collection of essays. Yay!
So basically, I just gave you the top of my Goodreads TBR list. But I meant to read these last year. And the year before that. And so on.
What did you mean to read but didn't?
