Guilty Reader Tag

This little tag was on Youtube and I've appropriated it for my blog.

  1. Have you ever re-gifted a book? - I don't think so. I definitely haven't wrapped a book and given it as a gift. I may have given someone a book I read awhile back. But it would have been a casual, "Here you should try this." as opposed to "Have a birthday present."

  2. Have you ever said you read a book when you haven't? I try not to actually SAY it, but sometimes I will pretend that I have read a book I haven't, just so I can be part of a conversation.

  3. Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it? Once. I might still have it. Over 18 years ago, my coworker loaned me a book called Kids Who Kill. Clearly this was when we worked in juvenile justice. It was true crime.

  4. Have you ever read a book series out of order?
Definitely. I am reading Donna Leon's series as I run across them. I have gone back and read some of the first ones, but then I also read the books as they come out. Sort of.

  5. Have you ever spoiled a book for someone? Not for someone who was planning to read the book under discussion. No, that's not true. We spoil the ending at book club all the time for folks that didn't finish it. But that's one of the rules. If you come to book club, prepare to hear the end.

  6. Have you ever dogeared a book? I used to do this. Now I have such a massive collection of bookmarks that I have no excuse for dogearing.

  7. Have you ever told someone you don't own a book when you do? I don't remember doing this, but I might have done it if they wanted to borrow it, and I didn't want them to.

  8. Have you ever skipped a section of a book? I skimmed part of Guns, Germs, and Steel. But usually, I don't skip.

  9. Have you ever badmouthed a book you actually loved? Nope. I'm pretty vocal about my opinions on most things.

How about you? Are you a guilty reader?
