Goodreads Update March 2018

Remember how I put holds on the entire list of Sequoyah books at my library? Well, I also put them on my Goodreads TBR. I will put them in a wall of text at the bottom of this post in the off chance you are interested in what the kids are reading these days. Otherwise, here is what I've added to my Goodreads TBR this month!

The Lost Book of the Grail by Charlie Lovett - Enough people have praised this one that I went ahead and added it to the list.

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - This is the third book in the Illuminae Files series. I'm currently working my way through the second one. Slowly. But it's excellent.

Herding Cats by Sarah Andersen - I love these comics about this 20-something girl who is trying to figure out how to be a person. Some of them are a little too angsty for my taste, but some of them are spot on.

Giant Days, Vol. 7 by John Allison - Here is another comic I love. This one is about British college kids also trying to figure out life. Reminds me very much of college.

Packing My Library: An Elegy and Ten Digressions by Alberto Manguel - Manguel moved from his home in France to a one-bedroom apartment in NYC. This book is about what he went through packing up his books for the move. He had a LOT of books.

Circe by Madeline Miller - Miller wrote The Song of Achilles that I loved a few years ago. This is a similar treatment of the Circe story.

Leah on the Off Beat by Becky Albertalli - Albertalli is the author of Simon and the Homo Sapiens Agenda that was recently made into the movie Love Simon. My daughter saw the movie after reading the book and loved them both. This book is based on one of the secondary characters from that one.

Giant Days: Extra Credit by John Allison - This is a collection of short comics and bonus material relted to the Giant Days comic I mentioned above.

The Power by Naomi Alderman - In this alternate reality, teenage girls suddenly acquire the power to cause massive pain and death through their hands. As you can imagine, this drastically changes the balance of power in the world.

The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner - This book is over a decade old but the series is experience a burst of popularity. The fifth book in the series came out last year and the sixth has been announced. Several people have raved about the series, so I thought I'd check it out.

Walk on Earth a Stranger Rae Carson - I keep putting this book on my list and taking it off again. It's back on again. In gold rush era Colorado, a teen girl can feel gold beneath the earth's surface.

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas - Thomas is the latest thing in YA lit. Her books are about black culture and the race struggle. Her first book was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement.

My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma - This is basically a YA romance set in an Indian American culture. I predict this book will make me hungry.

Party of the Century by Deborah Davis - I talked about this book in my library update. Seems very interesting!

Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman - I also mentioned this in the library update. I'm reading this for the Read Harder Challenge.

Goldie Vance, Vol. 1 by Hope Larsen - Same for this one.
