April 2018 Wrap Up

Well that month just flew by! Here's what I read in April:

SuperMutant Magic Academy by Jillian Tamaki - This little graphic novel completed the challenge to read a comic written or drawn by a person of color. Tamaki is Japanese, so there you go.

Bingo Love by Tee Franklin - My bonus child brought this home from the library and told me to read it. It's a lesbian romance comic set in the 1960's. Oh also, both women are black.

A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan - Finally finished this one! It took me 2 months! It was fun. I don't think it's really Alternate History. It's kind of Victorian or maybe Edwardian, but none of the countries mentioned are read countries. Also, dragons.

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden - This one took a minute to take off. Probably that was due to it being spoiled for me by a podcast. But it wasn't actually as bad as it sounded in the podcast. I ended up liking it a lot.

So what was on my TBR for April?

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden - Check

Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman - Working on it.

A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole - I started it, but it was due at the library and had holds on it. It didn't look like I was going to have any time to read it, so I took it back.

Party of the Century by Deborah Davis - I didn't even get to open this one. Ran out of time and had to return it.

The Sisters by David Grafton - Same with this one. I had it for like 6 weeks, and never got around to reading it. Well I read a few chapters. It seemed really good, but I had borrowed it from out of state and needed to return it.

Clearly my list for April was overly ambitious. Oh well. I'm still hanging on to the day when I can stop doing schoolwork and focus on books again!
