Goodreads Update 9/26/17
I was thinking I didn't add much to my Goodreads TBR this month, but then I went and looked at my actual list. Uh, yeah. I know remember going through my Kindle and adding to my list all the books on there that I haven't read yet. Also, I added some books the regular way. Here we go!
A Study in Scarlet Women and A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas - I've heard these books mentioned over and over as excellent Sherlock Holmes retelling. This time Sherlock is Charlotte and she is posing as Sherlock because she is a woman.
The Golden House by Salman Rushdie - This is the brand new book by Rushdie. It's about a wealthy family that immigrates to the U.S. They get new names, and kind of go into hiding until one of their neighbors wants to make a documentary about them.
Shadowhouse Fall by Daniel Jose Older - I loved the first book in this series and I got this second book signed at Texas Library Association conference last spring. I only just now remembered to put it on the TBR.
Under a Pole Star by Stef Penney - I loved her first book The Tenderness of Wolves so why not add this book set in 1880's Arctic Exploration era.
Giant Days Vol. 6 by John Allison - You know I love this series and its goofy college kids.
Hardcore Twenty-Four by Janet Evanovich - This is one of the only series I have read every single installment and I keep reading the new ones when they come out. It's so much fun!
Almost Midnight: Two Short Stories by Rainbow Rowell by Rainbow Rowell - Yes, I know that's redundant. That's the actual title of the book. I like Rainbow Rowell, so why not?
Lumberjanes Vol. 7 by Shannon Watters - Another graphic novel series I love. Even though it's aimed at middle schoolers.
Beastly Things by Donna Leon - Yes, another Guido Brunetti novel. Yay!
Jane Steele by Lindsay Faye - I started this one last year, but I didn't have time to finish it before it was due. I only remember a string of abusive men, similar to the Jane Eyre this novel is based on.
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson - This is the first in an epic fantasy series and it's huge.
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng - This was my September Book of the Month book. I have heard it's fabulous.
The Four Tendencies: The Indispensable Personality Profiles That Reveal How To Make Your Life Better by Gretchen Rubin - I love Gretchen Rubin's books and I love personality stuff. This book seems right up my street!
Reading People: How Seeing the World Through the Lens of Personality Changes Everything by Anne Bogel - This author is the host of one of my favorite podcasts, What Should I Read Next, in which guests tell her 3 books they love and one book they hate and what they're reading now, and she gives them 3 book recommendations. Readers Advisory on the fly. She's super impressive.
Bluebird, Bluedbird by Attica Locke - This mystery is about a black Texas Ranger sent to an East Texas town to investigate a couple of murders that the townspeople would rather have left alone.
That's what I have added this month. What new discoveries have you made this month?
