Friday Reads 2/22/19

Two whole days off this weekend! No church activities except dance rehearsal. Woot! Maybe I'll get some reading done. Here's crossing my fingers!

Home and Away by Candice Montgomery - My boss handed me this book and said he wanted me to read it so we can talk about it. Ooookaaaay. I mean, it's not like I'm reading every new YA book coming out this year. What's one more, right? It's not terrible so far. It's about a teenage black girl who comes from a very affluent family. She plays football, which is kind of cool. And she's not even just a kicker. Anyway, she finds out that her mom had an affair in college with a white professor and she is the result of that affair. She's kinda pissed.

Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig - I just started this one the other day. It's about a group of teenage cat burglars who dress as drag queens while they do their job. So far (50 pages) it's kind of hilarious and a lot action-packed. They already botched a job and the Los Angeles Museum of Fine Arts.

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte - I think this will be next after the drag queens book. This one is a fantasy about a pick pocket in this world that is divided into 4 quadrants that are very isolated from each other. She steals things from one quadrant to sell in another. She accidentally steals a thing that alerts them to the intended murders of the four queens. I got this from the Goodreads blurb, so I have no idea if I go it right.

So those are my reading plans for this week. What do you have on your reading plate?
