November 2021 TBR
It is time again for me to attempt to predict what I will be reading in November so we can look back and laugh about it in December. I just had another award committee meeting. I have a whole new set of books to aim for. I don't have a book club book to work in, so that's not an issue. I'll probably have some books come in at the library. In fact there are 2 waiting for me now.
In the Shadow of the Fallen Towers by Don Brown - This is a graphic novel about the 9/11 event. My colleagues said they cried all through it. But it's a graphic novel, so it will maybe read faster than proper fiction.
The Girl From the Sea by Molly Knox Ostertag - Another graphic novel. Hooray! This is a Selkie novel and probably Sapphic as most of Ostertaag's books are.
The Girls I've Been by Tess Sharpe - This is about the daughter of a con-artist who gets taken hostage in a bank heist. Sounds promising. I'm told the chapters are short and I should definitely read it.
Bad Witch Burning by Jessica Lewis - My one award colleague who has read this says she started out hate-reading it. Just reading it to get it off the list. But she ended up really liking it, so I'm getting it. It's at the library for me.
Under the Whispering Door by T. J. Klune - The only non-award book on this list. This is also waiting for me at the library. Woohoo!
All These Bodies by Kendare Blake - This should be coming in at the library very soon. I'm way up on the hold list.
A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee - I'm number 2 on the list but it hasn't been processed yet at the libary. It has a beautiful cover and I think it's about witches. I haven't had enough witch books in my life lately, so I'm ready.
Ok. There's the November list. I officially cannot wait for award times to be over. I bought two more books today that I can't read for at least 4 more months. Gah! The good news is the are 4 more award meetings until I am doneski!
