2022 Resolutions, etc.

Now that we are fully into 2022, let's review my 2021 goals and set new ones for 2022. These are my goals as stated in a blog post from January 13, 2021.

Read 150 books - Hahahahahahaha! I barely got to 100. There were too many months when I just couldn't bring myself to pick up a book.

Read 75 Award Books - Also laughable. I didn't even make it to 50. This was a rough reading year.

Complete the PopSugar Challenge - Nope. I think there were 4 prompts I didn't get to. 2 of them were about things I couldn't fulfill with YA books, so I knew I wouldn't get to those. A couple more, I just didn't get to.

Pay off 2 more lines of credit - So not quite. I did pay one off, but then we used it again, so we're paying it off again. I am paying a big one off this month. Hopefully that will help pay off the smaller ones?

Get a Promotion - Well not for lack of trying. I applied for like 7 jobs, but only got one interview. I had an interview yesterday. Hopefully, it will pick up soon.

Daily Routines - Yeah, I forgot about this goal. I have a routine, but it doesn't include everything I need to do. Just the very basics. I have no skincare routine.

So my goals for 2021 were basically and epic fail. I'm okay with that. It was a rough year.

For 2022, we're going to try some of these again.

Read 100 books - We're going to scale back our expectations on this goal this year. Since I'll purely be reading at whim, I won't be forcing myself to speed read. I can read at a leisurely pace. 100 books may still be a stretch. We'll see.

Re-Read 12 Books - I have so many books I want to read again! I haven't had time in the last 5 years to do any re-reading, so I want to make this a priority. It's self-care!

Read 25 of my 50 by 50 Books - You already know about my goal to read 50 certain books by the time I'm 50. So, I am going to make it a goal to read  half of them this year. I'm short a month because I'm still reading for the award in January this year. Then again, I turn 50 at the beginning of November next year, so I'll lose 2 months next year.

Complete the BookRiot Read Harder Challenge - In 2020, the Read Harder Challenge was extremely difficult. Things like "Read a book from an indigenous author from Australia." That's why I chose the PopSugar challenge last year, even though it had twice as many prompts. This year, the Read Harder challenge has scaled back the difficulty of the prompts, so I am going to do that one again.

Get a Promotion - This one is obviously a repeat from last year. But it has to happen eventually right? Don't answer that.

Pay off 2 Lines of Credit - This is kind of cheating since I'm definitely paying one off in a couple of weeks, and it will be pretty easy to pay off the one I've paid off several times before. But hopefully, I can get one more done and dusted this year.

Exercise - I really need to move more. It's hard when everything hurts all the time, but I can do it. I already dance once a week, most weeks. I have a glider in my house that is easy to hop on and do 10 minutes. My goal is to work up to 30 minutes and work up to exercising 3 times a week. Right now, I'm at twice a week. If my fitbit picked up my glider exercise as steps, I would have a step count goal, but it doesn't, so this will have to do.

Ok. There we are. My goals for 2022.
