November '22 Goodreads Update Pt. 2
I have added a few books since the last time we did this. Let's see what the damage is.
When Life Gives You Vampires by Gloria Duke - A plus-size woman gets turned into a vampire accidentally. This is illegal in vampire-land. She and the guy who turned her have to team up to fight other vampires, monster-hunters, and her mother's diet and lifestyle advice.
My Big Fat Bloodsucker Wedding by Bella Jacobs - This is a romance between a witch and a vampire. It's hate to love, fake romance, and may be a Pride and Prejudice spin-off. I'm not sure what else I need to know.
Thistlefoot by GennaRose Nethercott - I put this on my TBR under duress. Mike read it and really liked it. He kind of insisted. I don't care for retellings and I really don't like Baba Yaga. But he says it's not really a retelling and the house isn't that big a deal in the book. Also it mentions places in Oklahoma.
Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amelie Wen Zhao - I think this is YA fantasy. But look at that cover!
Tomorrowmind: Thriving at Work with Resilience, Creativity and Connection - Now and In an Uncertain Future by Gabriella Rosen Kellerman and Martin E.P. Seligman - I have an ARC of this and I could use all the help I can get to thrive at work.
Grave Reservations by Cherie Priest - This is about a woman who is a psychic. Sometimes. She runs a travel agency. And she rescheduled a police detective's flight on a hunch. The flight she took him off of crashed and now he wants her to help him solve crimes. This has overtones of Stephanie Plum and I'm here.
Better Than Fiction by Alexa Martin - This is a romance between a curmudgeonly bookstore owner who doesn't even read, and an overly-romantic bestselling author who is determined to show her the magic of reading.
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna - Mika Moon is a witch, but of course no one can no that. So she pretends to be a witch online. Obviously everyone knows it's fake. Until she gets a request from someone who thinks she's a real witch and can help them train this houseful of young witches. Oh boy.
Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey - This is a Christmas Romance. This woman is standing in front a New York shop window when the guy next to her asks her what she thinks. She tells him. Now she's his new window dresser. And he's hot.
And now we're all caught up. There's a lot of romance on this list. I wonder if there is a lot coming out right now, or if I'm just in a romance mood.
