January 2023 Library Update

There probably aren't any surprises here, but we'll do a quick overview, just in case.

CHECKED OUT

Perestroika in Paris by Jane Smiley - We talked about this one on Friday. It's about a horse who get loose and ends up in Paris. Give me all the talking animals, thanks.

Spare by Prince Harry - I hadn't planned to be part of the first wave of readers of this book, but it turned up and I just took it. I've read a quarter of it. I like it so far.

ON HOLD

The Passive Programming Playbook by Paula Willey and andria L. Amaral - One of our youth leadership people recommended this book and all the teen staff went bananas putting it on hold. The library bought 2 more copies of it. This book is currently on its way to my library for my turn.

A Death In Tokyo by Keigo Higashino - I'm still waiting on this mystery translated from the Japanese. I'm third on the list, so I think I might get it in the next couple of weeks.

The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - I originally got this on ebook, but I just couldn't get into in digitally. I was super annoyed because when I got the ebook, I cancelled my hold on the paper copy. Then when I realized it wasn't going to work for me, I had to start over again on the hold list. So now I'm number 14. Sigh.

A Mystery of Mysteries: The Death and Life of Edgar Allan Poe by Mark Dawidziak - This one hasn't been published yet. It comes out February 14, but I'm number 11 on hold and we are only getting 5 copies, so it'll be awhile for me. I just hope it comes in before my son finishes his Poe class this semester.

And that's it. For someone who claims to want to read all the books on her shelves, I sure do have a bunch of library books happening. Oh well. It is what it is, and I'll just roll with. Huzzah!
