Friday Reads 10/6/2023

October!!! Our high temp today is 71 degrees. Hallelujah! I'm a happy little polar bear for a couple of days. It will get back into the 80s next week, but for now, it's almost chilly! Which means perfect reading weather! On the other hand, I work both Saturday AND Sunday this weekend. Sunday I go straight from work to church stuff. Monday only has a nail appointment and waiting for the heat and air guy to come check our system. Yay. Can probably read then, if I can stay awake.

Columbine by Dave Cullen - I have to appreciate a nonfiction book that doesn't have a long subtitle. Or any subtitle. This book doesn't need a subtitle. The one word says it all. I'm officially halfway through this one. It reads faster than it looks like it would and the last quarter of the book is notes and pages from the boys' diaries.

One of Us Is Back by Karen M. McManus - I just really need to force myself to open this book. I know I will fly through it once I get it going. These books are like Cool Whip. I would like to return it to the library.

Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond - Desmond put out a sort of update to this one this year called Poverty by America. I also have notes on Goodreads by Desmond about this book. I could fall way down a rabbit hole here and I'm not mad about it.

That's the plan, such as it is. I mean, it is a plan, but it could change at any moment.
