November 2023 Library Update
My library account is pretty boring this month. I'm focusing on reading books on my actual shelves right now, so I have no books checked out. We'll just skip that and go on to the books I have on hold. That's at least a little interesting.
On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden - Of course. It's still here. Whoever checked it out last June has not returned it. I emailed our Graphic Novel buyer and asked if she might consider buying another copy. There are four people on hold. We shall see. (10 minutes later... she's going to buy a new copy!)
Go Forth and Tell: The Life of Augusta Baker, Librarian and Master Storyteller by Breanna M. McDaniel, illustrated by April Harrison - I ran across this in the Publisher's Weekly from last week. It's a picture book about someone I've never heard of, but I do like a story about a librarian. This will be published January 30, so it will be here for awhile. But I'm first on the waiting list!
Office Gods by Catharina Octorina - I have no idea where I saw this, but something about it sparked my curiosity. It's about a human woman who gets hired to work in the corporation that is Mt. Olympus. Office politics with Greek gods must be exhausting! This one came out November 7, so as soon as the library gets it processed, I will have it in my hot little hands. I am 4th in line and they've got 5 copies. It will probably only take a couple of hours to read.
And that's it. That is all that's happening. All of these books are quick reads. So that's awesome. I can focus on my actual, groaning shelves.
