December 2023 Library Update
Hi. I realize it's a little early to wrap up anything for the month, but I have a lot of end of the year posts to get to next week. So, the monthly stuff is happening early.
Here is what is happening on my library account these days. This will actually be a surprise for both of us, because I haven't been at the library for 10 days. I have no idea what's happening with my account.
I actually don't have any books checked out, so we'll skip that section.
ON HOLD
The Cook's Book by Bri McKoy - I heard about this on a podcast. The podcaster mentioned that she doesn't buy cookbooks because there are usually only 2 or 3 recipes in each one that she would actually bother making. It's not worth the price of the cookbook. This is my same problem. She said this book had a lot of recipes that 1) she would eat 2) were easy enough to make 3) had ingredients she had heard of and could get at the store. Please note that I didn't buy the book. I am checking it out from the library first. This one is waiting for me at the library and has been there for about a week.
Office Gods Vol. 1 by Catharina Octorina - This is a manga I found on the BookRiot site and thought I'd check out. A human woman gets a job at a corporate office that is people entirely by Greek gods. This one is on the way to me at the library. It should be there before I get back.
Go Forth and Tell: The Life of August Baker, Librarian and Master Storyteller by Breanna J. McDaniel - This is a picture book that I saw on the BookRiot site again. It's about a librarian, so I'll give it a sniff. This is brand new, so it's not circulating yet, but I'm first on the list for it.
On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden - And then there's this thing. I think I told you that I sent an email to our graphic novel buyer about replacing the missing copies of this and she placed an order. Now I just have to wait for them to get processed. I'm first on the list.
And that's it. That's all that is happening with my library account. Perhaps in the new year, there will be more interesting things here, but I plan to be focusing on the books on my shelves then, so maybe not.
Do you have any library books checked out right now?
