Friday Reads 3/1/2024

Well, well, well, here we are at March. Sadly, my list for this week's post is a lot like last week's list with a couple of exceptions.

Go Forth and Tell: The Life of Augusta Baker, Librarian and Master Storyteller by Breann J. McDaniel - I finally got this one! It is about Augusta Baker who was the local public librarian who influenced James Baldwin and Audre Llorde to become writers. No small accomplishment. I got this in delivery today and read it immediately.

The Guncle Abroad by Steven Rowley - Yup. Still on the list. I am charging my Kindle right now so I can maybe get some reading done on this one.

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel - This tome is back in play again as I try to finish something from my actual bookshelves. It's pretty slow going. I think I've mentioned before that the pages are Bible thin, which wouldn't matter if the print was a decent size, or the margins were a decent width. But there is nothing decent about the format of this book. It's a good thing I'm enjoying it.

I have a bell workshop/concert tomorrow, but I think I will be home before I would get off work. Maybe. We have to load up the bells after the concert and then take them to the church where we rehearse and unload them. So maybe not, but hopefully, I will have some reading time. Sunday is pretty much just the usual chores and church stuff. Monday, I have a hair appointment and an appointment with the extermintor. That being said, I might have time to finish The Guncle Abroad. If I do, I'll probably read my Oh, Reader magazine before I decide on my next book.
