Library Update August 2024

Stuff is sort of happening on my library account. Let's check it out.

CHECKED OUT

Chronicles of My Alien Invasion Life by Jes McCutchen - This is the one I'm reading for my author talk program in October. It stays at the library for now. If it gets to October and I'm still reading it, I'll take it home.

Sunrise Nights by Jeff Zentner and Brittany Cavallaro - I love Jeff Zentner. I have only read one Brittany Cavallaro book but I really liked it. So I'm excited about this one. It just showed up today.

ON HOLD

Colton Gentry's Third Act Jeff Zentner - I am still waiting for this to come in. I asked about it and collection management said it's probably because the supplier ran out of copies before they sent ours. I'm going to end up getting it in paperback before the library copy comes in. I'm first on the list, though.

A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft - So okay. This BookTuber I watch has started a book club. This is the October book. I love the author, so I'm interested in this one. I most likely won't get it in time for the book club, but whatever. I still like the author. I'm sure as hell not buying a hardcover copy, though. It comes out in September, so it won't be in paperback before the book club. I am second on the list, so if they get it processed and out the door in time, I might actually get it.

Never Saw Me Coming: How I Outsmarted the FBI and the Entire Banking System - and Pocketed $40 Million by Tanya Smith - I heard about this on a podcast and I was fascinated. This teen black girl figured out how to scam the banks. She used her "white girl" voice and got them to give her the information she needed. When she got caught, the FBI wanted to know who the mastermind was. Who was really calling the shots, because there is no way a teen girl was doing this on her own. I'm second on the list for this one.

An Academy for Liars by Alexis Henderson - This is the book club book (from the BookTuber) for November. There is a chance I will get this one in time. I like Alexis Henderson. So far this girl is picking winners. Or at least books that have the chance of winning, based on their authors. I'm number 15 on the list here.

Now or Never: Thirty-One on the Run by Janet Evanovich - Yes, ladies and... well, lady, it is time for another Stephanie Plum novel to set on my hold list for actual months. It comes out November 19, but since I'm number 142 in line, I'll have quite a wait. Unless it shows up here at my branch as a Quick Pick. Then I guarantee I will snag that ASAP.

And there you have it. Two books checked out and 5 on hold.
