New Books on My TBR
Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Books I've Recently Added to My TBR. I love this topic. I am always messing with my TBR shelf on Goodreads, which is where I keep track of the books I want to read, primarily. I see books reviewed that I think I might be interested in, so I add them to the list. Then later, I go back and think, "What the heck? Why is that on there?" Sometimes I read the summary and leave it. And sometimes I read the summary and decide I'm no longer interested.
So here's what I've recently added to my to-read shelf on Goodreads. I'll start at the most recently added book and work backwards.
Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld - I've been waiting for this for a long time. This is the latest installment in the Jane Austen Project. This is a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice.
Monterey Bay by Lindsay Hatton - This is a novel about the beginning of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
*Blackass by A. Igoni Barrett - This novel is about a Nigerian man who wakes up white, one day.
The Turner House by Angela Flournoy - The family matriarch decides she wants to sell the house. The kids turn up in Detroit to help and find out the house isn't worth a tenth of its mortgage.
Re Jane by Patricia Park - The retelling of Jane Eyre in current day Brooklyn.
Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin - I love her books. She makes a living out of trying to be a better person and writing about it.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah - I have put this on the list for the library book club. It's a World War II historical fiction.
Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson - I'm really looking forward to this one. She's so funny about really not-funny things.
The Enchanted by Rene Denfield - A fantasy story about a bunch of inmates.
*As If by Jen Chaney - An oral history of the making of the movie Clueless.
I'm all excited about these books again!
