Half Year Wrap Up 2016

We are officially half way through 2016! I think it's time to recap, share my stats, and tell you how I'm doing on my reading resolutions.

I have officially read 47 books as of June 30.

17 books were written by men. 29 books were written by women. 1 book was co-written by a man and a woman together.

4 books were written by people of color.

I read 10 non-fiction books, 1 book of poetry, 13 YA books, 1 mystery, 2 sci-fi/fantasy books, 8 fiction books, 1 classic, 2 books of short stories, 7 graphic novels, and 1 children's book.

Now for my reading goals:

  1. Read 50 books - I'm almost to that goal!

  2. Book Riot Read Harder Challenge - The Challenge has 24 sub-challenges. I have completed 17.

  3. Read the Hard books - I have read a few books that gave me some anxiety. I have a few more on my radar.

  4. Read My Own Damn Books - Uhhh. I have read 7 books I already owned. And I started one more, but couldn't get through it.

  5. Read 5 books over 500 pages - I've read 2 books with more than 500 pages.

  6. Modern Mrs. Darcy Reading Challenge - This challenge has 12 sub-challenges. I have finished 8.

  7. Read the 10 books I listed - I have finished The Bronte Cabinet, Crazy Rich Asians, and Men We Reaped. I started The Distant Hours, but I couldn't finish it.

  8. Write Reviews - I have written 2 reviews a month.

  9. Keep Track of DNFs - I have a list in my planner of books I started but didn't finish. There are 7 books on that list.

That was my list. I'm doing well on numbers 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, and 9. That's not too bad. I need to work on reading my own books, reading those big books, and that list of books I made. No big deal. So far, it's a win!
