Books I Just Won't Read

Today's Top Five Wednesday topic is Books I Will Never Read. Now I hate to ever say the word "never". It's just setting me up to have that book chosen for book club one month. So I'll just go with books I would really rather not read.

50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James - Confession: I read the first page of this a few years ago. It was pretty terrible. I have no interest in the subject matter and the characters are pretty awful. No thanks.

Ulysses by James Joyce - I have enough stress in my life. I read for entertainment. Busting all my brain cells to even figure out what is going on in my book is not my idea of entertainment. Nope.

Remembrance of Things Past by Marcel Proust - Ain't nobody got time for that!

The Lord of the Flies by William Golding - I barely avoided reading this in high school. It just sounds really awful. A bunch of middle school boys trapped on an island? Ugh. Non for me, thanks.

A Dog's Journey by W. Bruce Cameron - Or really any story where the dog gets it. I started his other book, and gave up after the main character (a dog) died three times. I don't trust this guy. Just no.

Do you have any books you refuse to read?
