Friday Reads 9/2/16

Alright. I am beginning to struggle. After my excellent reading day last weekend, I've barely picked up a book. I'm just not particularly interested in what I've got happening. I'm going to shake it up a little bit. Firstly, I'm going to let myself off the hook with All American Boys. I haven't read a Sequoyah book for awhile, because that is the one I was left with. I'm going to turn it in and get a different one, so at least I can whittle down that list.

Anyway, here's what I might read, given the opportunity, this weekend. Or maybe I'll just watch YouTube. It's kind of a toss up at this point.

Where I'm Reading From

Where I'm Reading From by Tim Parks - I think this book might be really good. I'm not sure because I fall asleep every time I read it. That's not a comment on the merit of the book. It's just that I've only had time to read before bed. So, I fall asleep.

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin - Considering the way my reading life if going, I'd better get busy on this book club book now, since book club is in 2 weeks.

The Accursed

The Accursed by Joyce Carol Oates - I kind of stalled out on this one because it's so big. And it's not that I'm intimidated by its size. It's just that when your only reading time is right before bed, you don't want a 700 page book to hold up. Also, vampires. Not a good choice right before sleep.

I realize this is kind of a lackluster post. I'm just not that excited about any of these. But, I need to keep plugging away so I can eventually get back on my game. What's on your nightstand this weekend?
