Friday Reads 6/16/17

Sorry I've been MIA most of the week. It's been a beast. Long story short: I was sick Monday. My kid's dental work will cost over $1000. She does not need knee surgery. She just has to live with pain. Major storm knocked a branch onto the roof. Dog peed on the bed. I'll be up all night doing sheets laundry. Kid has to be at the church by 9:00 tomorrow.

Probably, I will mostly be doing homework this weekend as I have a final project due Tuesday. I am hoping there is only a few more hours' worth of work to do on it. No sweat. So why am I having stress dreams?

Anyway, here is a list of books to read this weekend.

As If!

As If - I've read about 100 pages of this one. It's fun and much more entertaining than I expected.

Plague

How to Survive a Plague by David France - I lived through the AIDS epidemic and I kind of remember it, but I was like 8 when it struck. It began mostly with gay men, and I didn't really run in those circles when I was 8. It really came into my consciousness when I had to take sex-ed at school. By then, it was not relegated strictly to the gay community. Anyway, this book is fascinating and eye-opening.

Lady Jane

My Lady Jane by a bunch of people I'm too lazy to look up - Another super fun book. At the part I am at, Jane woke up the morning after her wedding to find that her husband has turned into a horse. So there's that.

There's my reading plans for the weekend. Light and fluffy and deep and distressing. You know, if I ever get to read a book. What will you be reading this weekend?
