Currently Reading

I had a small breakthrough today. Hooray!

I finished all my school work for the week last night. Then, I realized that I needed to get next week's work done early so I could do the 24 in 48 readathon next weekend. So today, I did all the reading for the week, the lectures for one of the classes, and the assignment that's due next Tuesday. I just have online lectures for one class left to do. Just a couple of hours of work. Woo hoo!!!

So, as a reward, I decided to find something to read. I mean, I'm working on that Flannery O'Connor book, but that's not a thing one can read in a long session. You kind of have to read her stories one at a time and let them set on your brain.

I settled on The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich. This is a YA novel about two boys who are both assigned to try to attract one girl who is of interest to the government because of her enormous brain (this is a dystopian society, of course). The government assigns a Nice boy and a Bad boy to woo the young lady and whichever one she picks doesn't matter because they're both spies. It matters to the boys, though, because the one she doesn't choose dies. This is an interesting enough premise, but in this one, the boys fall for each other. Oops! Now what?

Anyway, I've read a few chapters and it's pretty good. It might be brain candy, but I'm enjoying it. Considering how hard my classes appear to be this quarter, fluff is good.

On the other hand, I did get a grade on my first assignment in my cataloging class, and I got a 100%! Her only comment was "Good observations." Feeling pretty good about that.

I just wanted to update you on my reading situation since my Friday Reads was pretty blah last week.
