Friday Reads 8/11/17

I didn't mean to go off-grid this week, but that is apparently what happened. Every time I thought about posting something, some fire would start somewhere and I'd be off on a rescue mission of some sort. Anyway, it's Friday now, and I'm here, and I'm going to tell you about my books.

Lillian Boxfish

Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney - I am currently about half way through this one. It's the book club book for the month and I am loving it. I love Lillian and I love the writing and I love how nothing is really happening. This kind of book isn't for everyone, but I love it. Unless something goes very awry in the latter half, this book will have 10 bookmarks from me.

My Bookstore

My Bookstore: Writers Celebrated Their Favorite Places to Browse, Read, and Shop ed. by Ronald Rice - This is a lovely, slow-paced, book about books to read at night to help me fall asleep. No entry is more than four pages long. Perfectly relaxing reading.

I have come to accept the fact that I will not be getting much reading done for at least the next 6 weeks. When this set of classes is over, we will see what my schedule looks like. Until then, it's catch as catch can in the book department.

What will you be reading this weekend?
