Library Update 1/22/18

It's a brand new week! I have a kid with the flu so I'm sitting at home waiting on him. The wind is crazy outside. Perfect time to do a library update!

Here's what I have checked out right now:

The Almost Nearly Perfect People by Michael Booth - I'm working through this one currently. I like it when I force myself to pick it up, but it's not calling to me when I'm doing something else. Meh.

Underwater by Marisa Reichardt - This is the January Sequoyah Book, as I've mentioned. I've started it. So far, I feel like it's going to be one of those books where the teen boy saves the teen girl from her mental illness. Blah. We will see.

Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven - This is the last Sequoyah Book for my goal of reading all the Sequoyah Award Nominees for High School. Can't wait for it to be over! Not that I didn't love some of the books, but I think next year, I will not vow to read them all.

The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook by Coco Morante - There are a couple of recipes in here I want to try out. I like this cookbook because the recipes are easy and don't require ingredients I've never heard of. There are some techniques I've never done, but I might think about trying them. The ones I want to do are fettuccine with Bolognese Sauce and Unstuffed Peppers.

The New Instruction Librarian by Candice Benjes- Small and Rebecca Miller - Candice is teaching the instructional techniques class I'm taking this quarter and I am reading her book for the book report assignment we have. Yes. A book report in grad school. Oy!

Ok. I have a bunch of things on hold, but only one is for me:

Dot Journaling, A Practical Guide:How to start and keep the planner, to-do list, and diary that'll actually help you get your life together by Rachel Wilkerson Miller - I am a huge fan of bullet journaling. Well, not for me because I don't have that kind of time, but I like to watch other people do it. I have a bullet journal for things like my gratitude journal and habit trackers and whatnot. I have a separate book journal that is a bullet journal. But for planning, I use my planner.

The other things I have on hold are for Alyssa:

Sandman and the War of Dreams by William Joyce

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

The Mincing Mockinbird's Guide to Troubled Birds by Matt Adrian.

That is all. I am paring back on my library holds so I can think about reading the 98377648 books I have on my shelves that I haven't read.
