Favorite Heroines

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is to choose a former topic that you missed and do that one. I chose Favorite Heroines. Here we go.

Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice - Let's just get this one out of the way early. Everyone knew she was going to be here. She's smart and witty and fallible. What's not to love?

Jane Eyre - She's irrepressible and knows her own mind. I love her sense of right and wrong.

Stephanie Plum from the "By the Numbers" series by Janet Evanovich- Stephanie is funny and brave and clumsy (a thing I can relate to). Sometimes she's not very smart, but she is quick with a biting comeback, so I like her.

Abby Normal from A Love Story series by Christopher Moore - It could probably be argued that she is not meant to be the heroine of these books, but in my mind she totally is. She is super smart and trying to figure out who she is. Her one-liners are epic.

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter - Ok. I know she's not the main character, but she is A main character, and the only girl. She made it ok for girls to be smart.

I'm sure there are more, but that's really all I've got right now.
