Announcement
In October, I applied to be on the Sequoyah Book Award Reading Committee. The Sequoyah Award is given to a book in 3 catagories each year. Elementary, Intermediate, and High School. The committee reads hundreds of books and creates a list of 13-15 books each year. The list is published in April and kids have a year to read three or more books on the list. In March, voting is open for a couple of weeks, and the kids can vote on the book they think should be given the award.
I got the acceptance email this week inviting me to be on the High School reading team. For 3 years. Reading at least 160 YA books each year. So be prepared for my book posts to be featuring a LOT of YA starting in about May 2019.
Yikes!
