TisTheSeasonAthon Wrap Up

Last week was the TisTheSeasonAthon Readathon. I had four books picked out for that readathon. Here's how it went.

Well, I finished one book. This is a huge increase over the number of books I read for the last readathon I did. So, it may not be a win, but it's a vast improvement.

I finished Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons and it took me 5 days. That's kind of depressing because it was the book I was reading for the Read a Short Book challenge. In my defense, I ended up working double the late nights last week because of sick staff members.

This week I am doing the Very Merry Readathon This one has a possible 5 books to read in 7 days.

It occurs to me that I really need to get busy on this whole reading a book a day situation because starting in June I will be assigned a boatload of books to read and I need to get them done quick like. I noticed while reading CCF that I tend to read very slowly. I don't need to read that slowly. The book didn't require that close reading. Once I retrained my brain to step it up a bit, I got it done much faster.

Do you have any suggestions for getting through a book faster?
