20 Questions Book Tag

For tag Tuesday, I am doing the...

Twenty Questions Booktag:

  1. How many books is too many books in a book series? It depends. If I've been reading them all along, it doesn't matter. I've been reading the Stephanie Plum series for ages, so having 25 books out is fine. Donna Leon's books don't necessarily have to be read in order and I love those, so having almost 30 is also fine. Maybe the answer is, I don't care.

  2. How do you feel about Cliffhangers? Hmmm. Well, I read a fantasy book once that ended on a cliffhanger and it really made me mad. I felt manipulated into buying the next book to see how it ended. On the other hand, I read a book this year with a cliffhanger ending, but since the plot of that particular book had wrapped up completely, it didn't anger me.

  3. Hardcover or paperback? I don't care too much. Paperbacks take up less room on my shelf. Hardcovers are nicer and sturdier. On the other hand, a large book in hardcover hurts my hands to hold.

  4. Favorite book? Just one??? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, but I have lots of favorites.

  5. Least favorite book? The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold - I hate that book. it's so manipulative and sentimental. Blargh.

  6. Love triangles, yes or no? Love shapes are fine if they don't carry on too long. I mean, if a character is bouncing between two or more love interests for too long, they're just stringing them along.

  7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish? Stain by A. G. Howard. Couldn't do it. I just didn't care anymore.

  8. A book you’re currently reading? Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

  9. Last book you recommended to someone? A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kimmerer. I pressed it on the 6th grade teacher at Carver that I trade book recs with.

  10. Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication date) I mean, I read The Odyssey once.

  11. Newest book you’ve read? (Publication date) Wicked Saints. Practically any YA book I've read this year is brand new.

  12. Favorite author? Jane Austen. No surprise there.

  13. Buying books or borrowing books? Yes. Borrowing is easier on the wallet and bookshelves, but I sure do like to have books hanging around.

  14. A book you dislike that everyone else seem to love? The Lovely Bones as mentioned previously. My friend loaned me her copy because she liked it so much.

  15. Bookmarks or dog-ears? Bookmarks, definitely. On the other hand, I will write in my books, so it's mostly and aesthetic thing, not because I'm worried about ruining a book.

  16. A book you can always reread? The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction by Alan Jacobs. This book helps me relieve book guilt.

  17. Can you read while hearing music? Yes! In fact, I have a Pandora Premium account just so I can listen to music while I read. Commercials interrupt my flow, but music, even songs I know the words to, don't. I try to listen to music that matches the kind of book I'm reading. With Wicked Saints I'm listening to the Heavy Metal Channel. When I read On the Come Up later on, I'll listen to rap.

  18. One POV or multiple POV’s? (POV’s = Point of views) Oh I don't care. As long as I can keep them straight, I like hearing the story from multiple perspectives.

  19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days? I mean, short books I can read in one sitting. But longer than a couple hundred pages and I definitely have to spread it out.

  20. Who do you tag? I tag you! Tell me the answers to these questions! Let's compare notes.
