Library Lovers Tag

I am fully aware that this does not apply to me as a Librarian. However, it was fun to do, so we'll all just have to deal with it.

How often do you visit your local library? Roughly 5 times a week. Lol.

Are you the type of person who checks out more books than you know you can read, or do you only check out what you know you can read before the books are due? Uh, I'm definitely the type to check out more than I can read. The books will frequently hang around my house until I can't stand to look at them anymore. Then I return them unopened. On the other hand, I am getting so many books sent to me, I don't actually check out a ton of books anymore.

How old were you when you got your first library card? I honestly, don't remember. It was probably sometime in the 80's. Mom probably got me a card when I was old enough to read. When I was 4 years old, I read anything I could lay my eyes on, so mom probably got tired of trying to keep me stocked.

Do you go to your library looking for a particular book, or do you check out whatever piques your interest? Usually, I have ordered books to come to me. On the other hand, since I'm there every day, I get to see all the new books in the collection when they come in. Most of them I've already heard about from various places, but occasionally I'll flip through one.

Do you use your library to check out just books or do you also check out DVDs, audiobooks, music, etc? Mostly just books. Sometimes there will be an audiobook version of a book I have to read, and I'll check that out. I have checked out DVDs, but they usually sit on the stereo unwatched for a couple of weeks and then I take them back. I don't have that much time to not be reading.

From what section of your library do you check out the most number of books? I'm all over the place. I tried to go back through my borrowing history to see if there might be a trend, but I realized I check a lot of things out to myself for use in the library, or because I need to clear a record or something. I saw a lot of fiction, YA fiction, and cookbooks. Which is hilarious, since I hate cooking.

What is your favorite part of using your local library? Getting paid? Just kidding. I love that I can read a book that I don't really want to buy, but I want the information from it. I don't have to buy all my book club books. I don't have to buy books I'm only reading for a challenge or an award. I can save my money for all the books I want to have on my shelf.

And there you go. The Library Lover's Book Tag. What are your answers? How do you love your library?
