Friday Reads 8-16-19

Well, I'm towards the end of our lovely vacation. I've actually managed to finish a couple of books and I've worked on a couple more. I'm going to keep working on a couple and add a few more.

Strange the Dreamer

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor - I read a little of this this week, but mostly I focused on the books I was supposed to finish this week. I may have to do quite a bit of catch up on this one later.

Merciful Crow

The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen - I'm about half way through this one and I need to focus on it to get it finished this week. It's very good so far. I can't decide if it's based on European folklore, Native American folklore, or a mix?

Hey Kiddo

Hey, Kiddo by Jarrett J. Krosoczka - I am planning to read this on Sunday. It should only take an hour and then it's done.

Olive Kitteridge

Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout - Book club is on Friday, so I need to get busy on this one. Good thing it's short!!

Great Unknowable End

The Great Unknowable End by Kathryn Ormsbee - This appears to be a sci-fi YA novel set in a tiny town in Kansas. Pink lightning, blood rain, and a clock that is counting down to some unknown event.

Superman: Dawnbreaker

Superman: Dawnbreaker by Matt de la Pena - This is #4 in the DC Icons series of books. I haven't read the other books in the series, but it's not required to read them in order. I've heard this is great.

Rebel

Rebel by Beverly Jenkins - This one meets the Read Harder challenge to read a Historical Romance written by a person of color. This is Jenkins' most recent published book.

That's 7 books, but one is a graphic novel, one is supposed to be finished this weekend, and one is going to be still in progress at the end of the week. Wish me luck!!
