Friday Reads 9/11/2020
yay friday. That's all the hoorah I can muster for this day. Allergies are a bitch. That is all. Also, I have to work tomorrow, so today was my Saturday. Sigh. But enough whining. Let's talk about the books I'm reading this week.
White Fragility by Robin Diangelo - I am only reading the Introduction and the first three chapters of this for my book club meeting week after next.
Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron - I have this one out from the library and there are people waiting, so I better get on it. This is the one set hundreds of years after the events of Cinderella. The Cinderella ball has morphed into a marriage ball. Girls who aren't engaged by the end of the ball are cast out. Our main character would rather stick with her best friend, so she sets out to bring down the patriarchy.
Ayesha at Last by Uzma Jalaluddin - This is a Pride and Prejudice retelling set in a Muslim community in Canada. At least I hope it's set in Canada because I'm reading this for the PopSugar challenge to read a book set in a country that begins with the letter C.
I'm keeping my goals low this week. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself.
