Unread Backlist
Today's Top 5 Wednesday topic is Backlist Books. Backlist refers to books that were released over a year ago. With nearly 800 books on my TBR, I have to say most of those are over a year old. So I will list here the ones I'm super keen to get to when I can.
Roses by Leila Meacham - My niece recommended this to me years ago and I have never managed to get to it. It's a hefty chonker at 609 pages, which explains why I've put it off, but I really do want to read it.
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab - This is a middle grade spooky book about a girl who can see ghosts. Ironically, her parents (who cannot see ghosts) run a ghost hunting TV show. In this book, they are moving to Edinburgh to hunt ghosts.
Long Bright River by Liz Moore - This is barely over a year old as it was published in January 2020. It's about a woman who is a cop in Philadelphia who keeps an eye out for her estranged, addicted, homeless sister. A bunch of murders crop up in that community and her sister disappears.
Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions by Mario Giordano - This is the first in a cozy mystery series and I have had it on my TBR for years. I think I might be saving it for the right time.
The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty - This is another chunkster at 533 pages. Huh. It looks longer than that. She's a big, heavy book. Anyway, I hear the whole series is fabulous and I can't wait to get to it.
What are some books on your TBR that have been hanging around for awhile?
