Library Update June 2021
It seems way too early to be doing this update, but here we are.
CHECKED OUT
Lending a Paw by Laurie Cass - I'm halfway through this one. One of the other book club members said it picks up halfway through. I'm beginning to see that. The main character is kind of boring and a doofus. Her cat is pretty great though.
The Valley and the Flood by Rebecca Mahoney - This is an award book that I've only read a couple of chapters of. It's very weird. Towns that appear and disappear. That sort of thing.
Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo - This is about gay girls in the 1950s. One of them is also Asian. This is a bad time to be Asian and gay. I just got this one today.
ON HOLD
The Recovery Agent by Janet Evanovich - Just getting this out of the way.
Heartstopper Vol. 3 by Alice Oseman - This one is finally moving. I was number 11 on the hold list for at least a month. Now I'm number 6. We only have 3 copies, so it will be another month before I get it.
The Guncle by Steven Rowley - I'm number 21 on this list, but it's also moving now. We only have 5 copies, so I will have to wait my turn.
The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni - This is an award book. I am number 3 on 3 copies, so I should get this in the next couple of weeks.
The Forest of Stolen Girls by June Hur - This is another award book. I read one by this author last year and loved it. I'm number 2 on the list, but it's not started going out yet. It hasn't got all it's library stickers on yet.
A Map to the Sun by Sloane Leong - I saw a BookTuber rave about this one yesterday, and ordered it. It's a graphic novel about girls on a basketball team. This one should be here this week.
And that's my list. Woo hoo! I'm pretty excited about all of these, so that's good.
