Goodreads Update, June 2021 Pt. 2
I've slowed down a bit. I only added 5 books to my list in the last 2 weeks. Honestly, it's too hot to even think, much less add books to my list. These must have been added on those two days where we had a cold front and it was in the 80s.
Olive, Mabel & Me by Andrew Cotter - Ok. This book about dogs is safe to read, because I can be relatively sure no dogs die. This guy is hilarious and I'm so glad he wrote a book about his dogs.
Books Promiscuously Read by Heather Cass White - I don't think I need to explain why I put this on my list.
The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman - I honestly can't remember why I put this on my list. I must have seen it somewhere. It's a fantasy about a thief who tries to rob a knight in the forest and fails miserably. Now they have to work together.
The Premonition by Michael Lewis - I haven't been particularly interested in Lewis' previous works, but now he's written about the pandemic. I have a thing about pandemic memoirs, apparently. This isn't a memoir, actually, just a book about people.
The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo - So this is a gay retelling of The Great Gatsby told from the perspective of Jordan who is an Asian woman adopted by white, wealthy parents who plays professional golf.
And that's what I've added! Not a YA book to be seen. Would you read any of these?
