August 2021 Wrap Up

August 2021 Wrap Up

August was a complete bust. Today is September 2 and I've already read half the books I read in August. Anyway, here we go.

Premonition

The Premonition by Michael Lewis - This book really pissed me off. I could go on and on about all the ways the U.S. stuffed up the pandemic response even though we had people who knew what to do and were telling the people in charge, who chose not to do it. Gah!

Gokushufudo

Gokushufudo: The Way of the House Husband by Kousuke Oono - I read this on the very last Saturday of the month. It's about a former Yakuza who has married a career woman and settled down to become the house husband. He does everything like a Yakuza. Chopping vegetables is intense. When some guys gang up on a former associate of his, he steps in. But mostly he's concerned about getting the right present for his wife's birthday.

And that's it. That's what I managed to finish in August. Sigh. Here's hoping September is a better reading month.
