Books I Am Thankful For
Today's Top Five Wednesday topic is Books I'm Thankful For. Instead of books I am thankful for generally, I am going to list five books I am specifically thankful for this year. These are in the order in which I read them.
Hell in the Heartland: Murder, Meth, and the Case of Two Missing Girls by Jax Miller - I'm grateful for this book because it spurred a reopening of the search for the girls. The men responsible are either dead or sentenced, but we still haven't found the girls' bodies. But teams are still looking!
The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli - I'm thankful for this book because reading it became a bond between one of my dancers and myself. I still need to read the second book. I'm not allowed to read the third one yet, because she hasn't finished it.
The Guncle by Steven Rowley - I'm thankful for this book because it made me laugh when I was stressed out and miserable. It warmed my heart.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T. J. Klune - This is another heartwarming book that helped me get through the reading of a million and one award books.
The Girls I've Been by Tess Sharpe - I'm thankful for this book because it was exactly what I needed at the time I read it. It busted me out of my months-long reading slump. Also, it's fantastic. The main character, Nora, is smart, kick-ass, tough, and generally fabulous. I loved it.
So there you go. 5 books I'm thankful for this year. And only 1 of them was an award book! What books are you thankful for?
