Is it Friday? My phone says it's Friday, so it must be true. This week has been weird. I had a day off Tuesday. I worked from home on Wednesday. Then yesterday the library was closed for weather. Today I'm at work but there are very few patrons here. It's kind of nice. But it doesn't feel like a Friday. I'll take it anyway.
That being said, I thought we might have another day off today and I'd get some more reading done and finish this first book today. I can still hope.
Devil In a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley - I'm halfway through this, but it's really short, so I thought I might be able to finish it today. It's very noir and gritty, with the added bonus of racism seen from a black man's perspective.
The Caged Queen by Kristen Ciccarelli - This is the book my dancer is champing at the bit to get me to read. She'll be so happy to know it's happening now. First I need to read a synopsis of the first book so I'll know what the heck is going on.
This is Ear Hustle by Nigel Poor and Earlonne Woods - I should probably read this next so I can return it to the library. I used to listen to their podcast when Earlonne was still in San Quentin. This is kind of a collaborative memoir of how they became co-creators and their respective experiences with the prison system.
Considering that The Caged Queen has 400 pages, I think this is enough for now. Hoping I can get all my books read this month! I'm a little behind.
