January 2022 Goodreads Update, Pt. 2
So, I was feeling really good about myself and the fact that I hadn't gone TBR crazy and added a bunch of stuff to my TBR. Then I actually looked at the list. Oops.
So let's get started.
Yinka, Where Is Your Huzband by Lizzie Damilola Blackburn - This is a rom com with a fake dating plot. Yinka's family and friends keep pestering her to get married already. She's not interested until she has to go to her sister's wedding. She needs a date fast, and she has a plan to find the right guy.
Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu - This is the one that is the retelling of The Outsiders starring girls. 'Nuff said.
Why She Wrote: A Graphic History of the Lives, Inspiration, and Influence Behind the Pens of Classic Women Writers by Lauren Burke and Hannah E. Chapman - Include Jane and Charlotte. 'Nuff said.
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood - This is apparently the best new romance book on shelves.
The Maid by Nita Prose - This is a locked-room mystery starring a maid who perhaps has autism. She walks in a hotel room to find its occupant murdered. She quickly makes the top of the suspect list and has to find out who really did the deed.
Heartstoppoer Vol. 4 by Alice Oseman - My library finally got this on the catalog so I've requested it and put it on my TBR.
Organizing for the Rest of Us by Dana K. White - I've decided that organizing the house and reading about it are two unrelated activities.
The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2021 edited by Veronica Roth - I have to read a Best American _____ Writing book for the Book Riot challenge this year, so I bought this. I'm pretty excited about it, too.
The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams - This was on my TBR once before and I took it off for some reason, but now I've decided to add it back.
The Time Traveler's Guide to Regency Britain by Ian Mortimer - This is the latest in a series of Time Traveler's Guides. If this is good, I'll add some of the others.
Ocean State by Stewart O'Nan - I like Stewart O'Nan. I don't even know what this is about.
Edgewood by Kristen Ciccarelli - What a gorgeous cover! This author is a favorite of one of my dancers.
League of Liars by Astrid Scholte - I liked the last Scholte book I read. And this cover is kind of sick.
The Caged Queen by Kristen Ciccarelli - Speaking of my dancer's favorite author, this is the second book in the series that she is making me read. I read the first one last April. I hope I can remember what happened.
So that's it. Whew!
It's been a heckuva week, so I'm a little brief today. But here are the books I added.
