Friday Reads 2/11/22

It's Friday. I feel like I got hit by a truck. Well maybe just my face. I'm beat. I'm on coffee number two. I want a nap. Yeah. But I've been reading! In fact, I've finished 5 books this month! This reading whatever I want thing is fabulous!!!

So here's what I'm planning to read for the next week.

So We Read On

So We Read On: How the Great Gatsby Came To Be and Why It Endures by Maureen Corrigan - I really like Corrigan. She's a stuffy Ivy League professor, but she can write legibly and so I can understand what she's saying. I had a professor in college who always said "vis a vis". I had no idea what that meant, so I never knew what he was talking about. Using my second year French training didn't help. Looking it up didn't help. I never had any idea what he was on about. This is not that.

Dead at the Mall

I Woke Up Dead At the Mall by Judy Sheehan - I have been obsessed with this book ever since I first heard the title some 4 years ago. Now here it is, ready to be read. It's a YA book and it's pretty short, so I'm hoping I fly through it.

Midnight

Midnight In Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster by Adam Higginbotham - Then I'm going to start this beast. I do not expect to finish this in the next week. I fully expect this to take a while. That's fine. There are only 2 more books on my TBR for February. Also, I'm wondering what the subtitle means by "Untold Story" The disaster happened in 1986. This was published in 2019. I feel like the story has been told repeatedly in many ways. But we'll see what makes this one different.

So there we have it. What will you be working on this week?
