October Goodreads Update, Pt. 1

I might be jumping the gun just a little bit, but I wanted to do an update on my TBR now. I went through and removed about 40 books from my to-read shelf on Goodreads which brings that down to about 945 books. Then I added more books, of course.

Happy Place by Emily Henry - I don't really care what this is about. It's the next Emily Henry book. So I added it to my list.  It's about a couple who broke up 6 months ago, but hasn't told anyone. They decide to pretend to still be together for the annual friends beach vacation. This doesn't come out until next April, so I've got awhile to wait on this one.

Nick by Michael Farris Smith - This is a prequel to The Great Gatsby about Nick Carraway before he moved to West Egg. I just read a fantastic retelling of TGG and am clamoring for more! Can a single person clamor? I bet I can.

Breaking Bread With the Dead: A Reader's Guide to a More Tranquil Mind by Alan Jacobs - I gotta say, the title makes this book sound way more goth than the cover. My sister alerted me to the existence of this book by Jacobs, whom we both love.

And that's it! Just 3 new books! So restrained!
